Abstract

410,535. Gramophones. HARRISON, F., 13, College Road, Braintree, Essex. Nov. 29, 1932, No. 33722. [Class 40 (ii).] A diaphragm comprising a truncated cone 4 secured to one end of a portion 1 having an apical angle of less than 30‹ and an axial depth substantially greater than the diameter of its mouth, has the edge of the portion 4 suspended by a cord from a movable arm 13 attached to the gramophone body 14 whilst the apex of the portion 1 is fitted with an apertured metal block 10 forming a needle holder and connected by a spring or resilient member to the arm 13. According to a modification, the portion 4 is arranged adjacent a gramophone tone arm and horn, the edge of the diaphragm being formed with lugs disposed between rubber rings, the arcuate spaces between the lugs being filled with light fabric or thin leather.
