409,943. Polishing glass. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.-GOBAIN, CHAUNY, ET CIREY, 1<bis>, Place des Saussaies, Paris. July 26, 1933, No. 21066. Convention date, Aug. 9, 1932. [Class 60.] The surface of glass, which has been ground and smoothed, is polished by means of wire brushes, the wire being, for example, of brass of 8 to 10 hundredths of a millimetre gauge ; the brush may be flat, domed, cylindrical or conical, and may comprise a circular plate driven by a central shaft and having a number of non- oxidizable blocks secured thereto, each holding a tuft of the wires, the free ends of which are levelled. The use of brushes as described above may form a preliminary polishing operation, final polishing being carried out by means of felts treated as described in Specification 366,872 or 379,184.
