366,872. Grinding. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST-GOBAIN, CHAUNY ET CIREY, 1 bis, Place des Saussaies, Paris. Aug. 13, 1931, No. 22926. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1930. [Class 60.] Wheels and other tools.-Felts for polishing glass, adapted to be employed with abrasives such as oxides of iron or alumina, are coated on the working surface with a layer of pitch the face of which is softened by a mixture of water and a solvent such as alcohol, benzine, or spirit of turpentine before the operation, a similar mixture with a larger amount of solvent being used to free the surface from clogged abrasive. The pitch may be applied by dipping the felt in a shallow bath of melted pitch, and the solvent mixture may be poured on a surface similar to that of the work over which the felt coated with pitch is moved. Plasticizing agents such as .wax or spirit of turpentine may be added to the bath of pitch.
