Abstract
409,217. Photographic cameras. VOIGTLANDER & SOHN AKT.-GES., 7, Campestrasse, Brunswick, Germany. Oct. 25, 1933, Nos. 29623 and 29624. Convention dates, Nov. 9, 1932 and Nov. 19, 1932. [Class 98 (i).] A photographic camera comprises a finder and coupled rotary members for axially shifting the exposure and the finder lenses for focusing, the rotary members co-operating with means for inclining the finder lens relatively to the optical axis of the exposure lens for preventing parallax. As shown, the camera comprises a body 1 with a partition 2 forming an exposure chamber 3 and a finder chamber 4. The exposure chamber 3 has a lens 5, an opening 6 closed by a lid 7, film spools 8 and a film 9. The finder chamber 4 comprises a finder 10 including a casing 11 having a bottom 12 inclined at an angle of 45‹ and having a mirror 121 mounted thereon. The casing 11 is hinged to the top of the front wall 22 at 13 and is acted upon by a spring 14 tending to incline it with its front wall 15 forwardly. The finder comprises a lens 16 and a focusing screen 17. The carrier 18 of the exposure lens 5 comprises a tube 19 formed with external screw-threads 20 engaging the internally threaded ring 21 mounted in the front wall 22. The ring 21 has a flange 23 with gear teeth 24 and embedded in a recess 25 in the wall 22. The flange 23 is integral with an arm 27 carrying a finger piece 28. From the plate 26 projects an arm 29 formed with a slot 30 engaged by a pin 31 secured to the shutter housing 32. Projecting through the front wall 15 of the finder casing 11 is a tubular member 35 with external screwthreads 34, and mounted on the member 35 is an internally threaded ring 36 to which the tube 37 supporting the lens 16 is secured. Between the front wall 22 and the top of the plate 26 is mounted a gear wheel 38 meshing with the gear wheel 24 and integral with a ring 39 secured to which is a pin 40 engaging in a longitudinal slot 41 in the tubular member 36. The ring 39 has a cam face 42 engaging a pin 43 secured to the casing 11, and has scale marks co-operating with a pointer 47 on the plate 26. In a modification, the shutter casing of the exposure lens has external screw-threads engaging in an internally screw-threaded ring rotatably mounted in a tubular extension of the camera case, and formed with gear teeth meshing with the gear teeth carried by a ring for axially displacing the finder lens. The iris diaphragm is set by a ring rotatably mounted on the exposure lens carrier and connected with the diaphragm laminations by pins. The ring has gear teeth engaging a pinion mounted on a pin fixed to the front wall, the pinion being integral with a gear wheel meshing with another gear wheel located in a slit in the tubular extension of the camera case.
