755,786. Photographic cameras and projectors. MATTER, M. June 21, 1954 [June 26, 1953], No. 18156/54. Classes 97 (1) and 98 (1). An elongated opaque casing 1, Fig. 1, carrying at one end a concave parabolic mirror 2 is adapted for use alternatively as a photographic or kinematographic camera, by the attachment of a camera obscura containing a light-sensitive film or, as an optical-projector, by the attachment of a box-shaped structure 4 carrying a transparency 5 and a light source 7. Preferably ribs 20, Fig. 2, are provided to prevent internal reflections. In the form shown in Fig. 2 casing 1 has opening 3 in the form of a segment of a circle defined by plane surface 14. Mirror 2 and adjustable iris diaphragm 22 are mounted in tube 10 slidable in extension 11 of casing 1 and focusing is effected by turning tube 10 so that pin 12 moves in helical groove 13. Dia. phragm actuating pin 32 is mounted on an inner tube for rotation by its knurled rim 31. The shutter and film are located in camera body 16 which may be replaced for focusing by a viewfinder (Fig. 6) having mirror 23 and groundglass screen 28. In an alternative form a viewfinder is provided in a duplicate casing having a mirror corresponding to the mirror 2 and the mirror mountings are joined between the casings and moved together by a single screw. Either the duplicate mirror or the mirror of the viewfinder may be angularly displaceable to correct for parallax.
