408,576. Adjusting wireless apparatus. WYBORN, E. J., 5, Glencarse, Chalkwell Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea, MARTIN, A. W., 1, Thames Close, Leigh-on-Sea, and COLE, Ltd., E. K., Priory Crescent, Southend-on-Sea. Oct. 5, 1932, No. 27674. [Class 37.] An indicating dial for a wireless receiver comprises two scales which are broken and arranged to occupy the whole area of the dial, and made separately discernable by means of a blanking member comprising contiguous transparent and opaque surfaces. In the construction shown a tuning dial a has indications for long and short wavebands represented respectively by the numbers 25 and 52. The blanking member b is movable in guides c by the wave-change control k operating through links g and e. In a modification, the dial is rectangular, and the blanking member is in the form of a flexible band carried by rollers. The dial may be transparent, and the blanking member and a source of illumination placed behind it. The broken portions of the scales are preferably about .25 mm. in width.
