408,385. Delivering measured quantities of tablets and like small articles. BUTLER, SIR R. R. F., Wonham Manor, Betchworth, Surrey. Nov. 28, 1932, No. 33636. [Class 106 (v).] In apparatus for delivering measured quantities of tablets and like small articles comprising a hopper 1 having in its outlet duct 2 a measuring space defined and controlled by reciprocable slides 3, 4 arranged one above and in advance of the other, a gap 11 is left between the wall of the duct and the forward edge 3b of the upper slide when in the closed position, the gap being of such a width as to prevent the jamming of the tablets between the edge of the slide and the wall. A similar gap is preferably left between the duct wall and the edge 4b of the lower slide. In order to prevent a free passage of the tablets the duct wall is provided with a guard 12 overhanging but spaced above the gap 11.
