406,729. Fuel-economizers. DINELEY, B., 32, Scalford Drive, Wollaton Park, Notting- ham. Aug. 25, 1932, No. 23783. [Class 126.] In a fuel-economizer or " fire-brick " of the kind provided with an opening 12 for the passage of gases from the fire, this opening is formed in the lower part of the front face and extends to, or close to, the lower edge, and is provided with a grid, the bars 13 of which are of less width than the spaces between them. The grid may be integral with the body of the economizer, or the body may be cast or moulded round it. The grid and body may be of different materials, for example, a cast-iron grid may be let into a solid fire-clay body. The economizer shown is preferably formed integrally of cast-iron and is of hollow form with side walls 11 having inclined bottom edges to tilt the economizer rearwardly. The front wall has a thickened portion or lip surrounding the aperture 12. The aperture may be semi-circular, as shown, rectangular, or of other shape. Specifications 18980/04 and 106,174, [both in Class 126], are referred to.
