Abstract

406,511. Packing-cases for bottles. MARDON, K. J., Redcliffe Lodge, Filton, Gloucestershire. May 5, 1933, No. 13083. [Class 18.] A wood, cardboard, &c. packing-case for bottled goods is permanently closed at the bottom and has an upper edge of double thickness formed by turning the material down at 2<1> or by affixing battens the mouth being closed by a removable flexible diaphragm 4 the edge of which may be upturned and which has apertures 5 through which the bottle necks pass. The apertures 5 may have radial slits, so that the edges of the apertures may incline upwards and engage beneath a shoulder on the bottle neck. Hand-holes 10 may be provided. When the case is of cardboard the downturned edge may be riveted or the outside of the corners strengthened with canvas or other fabric. Intersecting partitions 6 may also be provided.
