406,347. Brake drums. SMITH, S., Dingley Dell, Windlesham Road, Chobham, Surrey. Aug. 25, 1932, No. 23746. [Class 103 (i).] Brake drums are provided with a series of ports 3 which collectively cover the whole width of the brake shoes whereby oil, mud and matter formed by wear of the friction surfaces is forced out from the path of contact of the surfaces. In the case of a motor -car, to prevent entry of water through the ports, when washing the car, a cover 6 spaced from the periphery of the drum may be attached thereto.
