Abstract
A grease band for banding fruit trees and the like comprises two independent strips of paper or other suitable material of identical width and between which is a band of adhesive of suitable width, the lateral edges of both strips being uncoated. One strip may be cut, perforated, scored or otherwise treated near either or each longitudinal edge so that when both strips have been applied to a tree trunk and tied by means of string or other binding material, the outer strip may be separated at the line or lines of perforations or the like, removed to expose the adhesive on the inner band and subsequently employed on another tree trunk: alternatively, plain strips may be used, lengths of string being then inserted between the uncoated edges, the inner strip being secured to the tree trunk thereby and the outer being subsequently stripped off. The band may be made in lengths suitable for application to a single tree trunk of average size or in longer lengths.
