Abstract
405,801. Sound-film feeding devices; combined sound and picture films. MILLER, J. A., 4627, 193rd Street, Flushing, New York, U.S.A. Feb. 11, 1933, No. 4274. Convention date, Feb. 13, 1932. [Class 40 (ii).] A film 1 in the form of a helical strip having free ends is carried by two drums, rollers, or the like, 4, 5, rotatable at equal speeds, and is formed into a loop 6 at which recording or reproduction occurs. The axes of the drums may be collinear, or, as shown, may be parallel, one drum being driven and rotating the other in opposite sense. Each drum may have only one flange 3 which is removable to the other end of the drum to render accessible the leading end of a film wound on to it. The film may carry picture records 12, Fig. 3, and may carry a sound record 13 on its outer margin ; perforations 14 may be provided in the wedge-shaped spaces between the images 12 or in the margins.
