405,352. Fruit baskets &c. UNIVERSAL SEAMLESS CONTAINERS, Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London, and BURLAND, J. HARRIS-, Aylesford Mills, Larkfield, Kent. Aug. 12, 1932, No. 22658. [Class 18.] A basket or like con. tainer, e.g. for packing fruit of the kind having a handle which can be swung through 180‹ so that it lies within the basket &c. for nesting, has means for locking the handle in an upright position consisting of a flexible tongue 20 on the handle or as shown on a reinforcing band 12 on the body, which can be bent to engage the edge of the basket or the handle respectively. The engagement may be by the tongue passing through a hole in the handle or by bending it to embrace the rim. Pivot pins may pass through the reinforcing band 12 and this and/or the handle may be of thin sheet metal, vulcanized fibre &c. The basket may be moulded from fibre pulp material. Specification 392,957 is referred to.
