Abstract
403,956. Kinematograph apparatus. LEVENTHAL PATENTS, Inc., 175, Varick Street, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Leventhal, J. F. ; 175, Varick Street, New York, U.S.A.) June 25, 1932, No. 17997. Convention date, June 25, 1931. [Class 97 (i).] In continuous-feed apparatus, optical compensation is effected, for each picture, in a number of stages, by means of a number of plane-parallel refracting members rotatable about a common axis, and a number of optical systems selectively rendered inoperative. As shown, plane-parallel refracting members 15, on a holder 14, are symmetrically arranged about the axis of a shaft 11, and are halfcovered with opaque material 16, so as each to co-operate with one of two fixed half lenses 23 having vertically spaced parallel axes. The shaft 11 is geared, by wheels 20, 19, to the axis of a feed sprocket 18 drawing the film F through a two-picture gate 21, the gearing being such that two members 15 rotate across the projection axis while the film moves through an image-height. The opaque coverings on the members 15 are alternately arranged, and the projection beam passes first through one member and the upper lens 23, and afterwards through the next member and the lower lens 23. A prism 24 reflects the projection beam parallel to the shaft 11.
