[Class 106 (iii).] A thin, flat box a for collecting tickets is provided with a slot or guide at the top thereof, and at the lower end of the slot is a spring-influenced means to support a ticket r in a vertical plane. After the ticket has been inspected, the spring - influenced means is released by a push-button, &c. p and the ticket falls into the box. The box is adapted to be secured to the back of an omnibus seat, &c. and it is of sheet metal divided by a vertical partition into two similar compartments. A slotted frame c is mounted in the top of the box, and the ticket supporting means comprises a pivoted jaw n, Fig. 3, pressed towards a fixed jaw k by a spring o, or a fixed guide q, Fig. 6, the bottom of which is normally closed by a pivoted bent arm t kept in position by a spring o. The ticket slots should not be wide enough to allow matches to be inserted. For gaining access to the interior of the box, the bottom is hinged and its free edge is formed with a spring finger to engage a similar finger on the adjacent side, or a hinged door is provided in the front of the box, this door being held closed by a spring influenced pin which engages an apertured lug on the door. The box may be combined with a smoker's tray and the surfaces of the box may bear advertising matter. According to the Provisional Specification, the device comprises a box at the top of which is a spring clip consisting of (i) a horizontal fixed jaw and a horizontal pivoted jaw which latter can be retracted by an external lever or knob at the side of the box, or (ii) a pair of vertical jaws pressed together by an arcuate spring, the outer ends of the jaws projecting through openings in the box.
