Abstract

402,819. Reservoir brushes. CALDERARA, M., 47, Avenue de Brimont, Chatou, Seine-et-OisÚ, France. June 9, 1932, No. 16292. [Class 19.] A collapsable refill container for pasty or liquid substances has a cylindrical wall of thin metal bent into a helical V -shaped groove, and the base may be so shaped as to fill the container completely when collapsed. The container a, Fig. 3, has a screwed nozzle a<6> adapted to be fitted into the interior nozzle of a shaving brush or like device. The base is composed of two parts as, a<10>, the wall of the container being folded between them at a<11> and united to them by dipping into molten metal. If the container is to be collapsed by hand, an internal stem made of spirally wound metal ribbon is provided to prevent lateral deformation. The brush adapted to be used with the container has a middle part b, Fig. 1, fitted with a screw sleeve b<3> and a slotted sleeve b<5>, a collar b<4> working in the screwed sleeve and sliding by means of pins b<7> in the slotted sleeve. To the pins is fastened a plunger b<8> which comprises the container. The portion b is reversible, so that when an empty container is removed the full one can be inserted at the other end, the end portions b<1> and b<2> being simply exchanged. In another construction, the plunger is moved step by step by pressure on a button connected to a spring- retracted, pivoted lever.
