Abstract
402,353. Siphon bottles. FERNHOLZ, E., 5, Hohenzollernkorso, Tempelhof, Berlin. June 12, 1933, No. 16725. [Class 14 (i).] Siphons 1 for soda-water and other aerated beverages of the kind having a removable closure 2 formed with a hollow connecting stud 6 to which a carbonic acid cartridge support is usually affixed are provided, in place of the cartridge support, with a coupling piece containing a non-return valve 5 and having means for connecting it, preferably by means of a flexible hose, with a carbonic acid bottle from which the siphon can be recharged as desired. The coupling piece is constructed with a screw-threaded portion 10 for connection with a coupling nut on the flexible tube leading to the carbonic acid bottle, a collar 9, and an inner valve stem 5, the latter having a lateral opening and being covered with a rubber sleeve to constitute a non-return valve of the type used for pneumatic tyres. The coupling piece is secured in position by a cap nut 8 screwed on to the thread 7 of the stud 6, the collar 9 being clamped between this nut and the head of the threaded member 12. The piercing nipple 11 for the carbonic acid cartridges is held in position by the screw-threaded member 12 with the interposition of a liner 13.
