Abstract
402,280. Manifolding books &c. ALLEN, R. L., Palace Court Hotel, Pembridge Square, London.-(McGuinness, D. H. K. ; 209, Abbott Street, Cairns, Queensland, Australia.) Feb. 14, 1933, No. 4471. [Class 16.] A carbon-paper holder for a manifolding book, pad, &c. comprises a member adapted to be inserted into or to grip the book &c., a plurality of frames each consisting of a metal strip bent twice at right-angles and pivoted to the member, and means for securing carbon paper to the edge of the frame remote from the pivot. In an arrangement for obtaining three carbon copies from an original, the holder comprises three frames 6, 7, 8, all pivoted about a rod 12 which passes through a hinge tube 13 and is screw-threaded to receive a nut 20. The carbon papers are attached to the frames at the cross-bars 11 by strips 18 provided with lugs 19. A backing-plate 9 for the holder is provided with lugs 16, 17 which clip over any of the cross-bars 11 and strips 18. Alternatively, the backing-plate may be provided as a loose fitting. The backing-plate may be provided with a memorandum slip. The hinge tube 13 may be provided with a plate 21 having integral spring clips 14, 15 to attach the holder to the cover of a book or pad.
