Abstract
398,894. Kinematograph apparatus; photographic apparatus. KODAK, Ltd., Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Bouveng, N. ; Elg÷, Saltsjobaden, Sweden.) March 24, 1932, No. 8812. Convention date, March 28, 1931. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i).] A reversible spoolbox has an aperture in one side wall through which a driving connection can be established with one spool, and an aperture in the opposite side wall through which a driving connection can be established with the second spool so that rotation of the two spools can only be effected by means of a driving member inserted through the apertures in the respective opposite walls of the spool-box. As shown in Fig. 3, the spoolbox has a fixed side wall 20 and a removable side wall 21, spools 22, 23 being arranged between the walls and depressions 24 being provided on the interior of the walls for maintaining the film in position. The spool 22 has a slot 25 with which a driving shaft passing through the wall 21 can engage. The spool 23 has a slot 26 with which a driving shaft passing through the other wall 20 can engage. One edge wall of the spool-box has slots 27, 28 for the passage of the film to form an external loop. In a modification the spool-box carries the gate and a film sprocket, a driving connection for which is provided in both walls, and slots 43, 44, Fig. 6, are provided above and below an exposure aperture 42 in the spool-box for engagement of claw-feed mechanism with the film perforations. With double-claw feed mechanism these slots are duplicated. The film perforations near the end attached to the spool 22 are cut away as described in Specification 398,911. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a film in which the perforations may be interrupted in one edge only for use with single-claw feed mechanism. Instead of cutting away the perforations the end of the film may be firmly fixed to the spool 22. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
