Abstract
<PICT:0398312/III/1> A combined sterilizing and ozonizing unit for use in purifying the water of swimming baths comprises an ultra-violet ray lamp or burner in a quartz tube 15, an outer quartz tube 16 and a casing 14. Air entering through a filter 22 is ozonized as it passes through the tube 16 to an outlet 23. Water is sterilized by the rays as it passes through the space 17 between the tube 16 and casing 14, which is provided with diametrically-opposed inlet and outlet and internal ribs causing turbulence in the flowing water.
