Abstract
397,725. Wireless signalling. HULSEWE, A. F., 188, Keizersgracht, Amsterdam. Nov. 23, 1932, No. 33132. [Class 40 (v).] Relates to systems in which telegraph signals are repeated or transmitted simultaneously over a plurality of channels to produce a plurality of perforated tapes which together will give a record free from the effects of atmospherics &c. and comprises an editing device to deal with Morse tapes in such a system. In the embodiment described, three records on Morse tapes are passed simultaneously through Wheatstone transmitters, the transmitting levers 1, 2, 3, Fig. 2, of which either make contact with the space-contacts 4, 5, 6 or marking contacts 7, 8, 9 respectively. A relay 10 receives a negative marking impulse from battery 11 when the levers 1, 2, 3 are all engaging the marking contacts 7, 8, 9. When one or more of the levers 1, 2, 3 is on the spacing contacts 4, 5, 6, the relay 10 receives a positive spacing impulse. Thus only when a signal appears on all three tape records simultaneously does the relay 10 record it. Either set of contacts may be switched out of circuit when working with marking or spacing impulses only. In a modification, Fig. 3, the levers 1, 2, 3 are arranged in parallel and co-operate with a single contact 12, 13 or 14 respectively, during spacing intervals to short-circuit the relay 10. Only when marking signals occur on each tape simultaneously is the short-circuit removed from relay 10 to allow it to be energized. A special signal may precede the message signals to indicate the commencement of the latter on each tape.
