Abstract
397,355. Supply meters. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES., 1, Hofstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. Dec. 14, 1932, No. 35416. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1931. [Class 37.] The operative parts of a meter are joined to the supporting frame by jet-casting. As shown applied to an induction motor meter, the pressure magnet 2, current magnet 5, and brake magnet 11 are fastened to the frame 1 by means of blocks 12, 13, 22 of jet-cast material which engage the magnets like clamps and are themselves held by rivet-like extensions 14. Small notches may be made in the cores 2, 5 in order that they may be held in the blocks 12, 13 without relative motion. The block 12 also holds the phase-regulating plate 15. A block 17 jet-cast on to a transverse member 1<11> of the frame 1 and passing through a hole therein holds the counting-gear 9 and the upper bearing for the spindle 7. The lower bearing consists of a cylindrical member held by a spring in an aperture in a jet-cast block .19 extending through a cross member 1<111> of the frame 1. The operative parts of the meter are placed in correct relative position in a mould having hollow spaces which are subsequently filled with jet-cast material to form the supporting blocks. The jet-cast material may be metal or insulating material such as artificial resin. Adjustment of the brake magnet is effected by means of a magnetic shunt in the form of a spring 24, adjustable by a screw (not shown), and held in the jet-cast block 22. Adjustable wing-pieces 26 are provided for adjusting the reluctance of the shunt path to the pressure core. Phase compensation is effected by a wing-piece 27 adjustable in the slot 4 of the pressure magnet.
