396,892. Ventilation apparatus. HALL & KAY, Ltd., KAY, P. and HALL, S., Stockport Road, Ashton-under-Lyne. May 14, 1932, No. 13894. [Class 137.] Apparatus for circulating and attemperating the air in rooms, comprises shafts 4, 5, and a fan 13, which draws the air through the lower shaft 5, and discharges it past deflectors 14, 10, between which is a passage 15 through which additional air is induced, this air entering either through an opening 21 from the upper part of the room, or through an external ventilator 18. Valves 19,20 control the proportions of fresh and recirculated air. Gilled tubes 9, through which flow a heating or cooling fluid, attemperate the air circulated past them. In a modification the ventilator 18 is dispensed with. Water or steam sprayers may be used to humidify, heat, or cool the air.
