[Class 40 (ii).] An additional stylus 13 is adapted to track a grooved sound record in conjunction with the ordinary reproducing stylus 12 and to maintain a correct position in the groove, under circumstances in which the reproducing stylus is displaced, in order to afford an indication of the appropriate record groove to which the displaced stylus is to be returned. The stylus 13 is mounted in a holder which is fastened by a spring 16 to a light-weight arm 17. The member 17 may be pivoted for horizontal movement on a pivot 15 which in turn is mounted on a saddle 21 pivoted on a horizontal pivot 20 on the reproducer arm 18. The stylus 13 is located as near as possible to the stylus 12, and the moment of inertia of the indicator stylus 13 and its arm 17 is low compared with that of the stylus 12 and arm 18. After the stylus has been displaced from its groove, it may be returned by manually raising the arm 18 until it engages a channel-shaped guide 19 on the arm 17 and then lowering the stylus 12 into the groove.
