Abstract

394,391. Stapling hand-tools. RAWLINGS, J. J. and RAWLPLUG CO., Ltd., Rawlplug House, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27732. [Class 89 (iii).] A tool for .driving staples or the like comprises a punch A of cylindrical material with a flattened end portion B, and a cylindrical sleeve D with a flattened end E. The sides of the end E are slit as at F, so that a staple placed in said end is gripped resiliently and held until driven. Travel of the punch in the sleeve is restricted by shoulders on the flattened portion of the punch, or by a pin and slot. The driving end of the punch is arched to fit the staple. The punch may be magnetized and may have a mushroom head for hand use.
