392,372. Bituminous compositions. YOUNG, J. H., 370, Jefferson Drive, Mount Lebanon, JENKINS, P. W., 3620, Terrace Street, and ROBERTSON CO., H. H., Grant Building, 3rd Avenue, all in Pittsburg, U.S.A. June 28, 1932, No. 18191. [Class 22.] Metal articles, particularly metal sheets 10 for roofs and sidings of buildings, are coated with plastic asphalt 12 which contains from 10 to 16 per cent by volume of lampblack, diatomaceous earth, infusorial earth, fossil flour, or like filler and is applied in the plastic state by pressure rollers. The addition of the filler renders the asphalt incapable of coating the article by immersion, but makes it non-flowing and non- dripping when heated or burnt without impairing the flexibility. The coated sheet may be faced with layers 13 of asbestos, wool, or other felt saturated with asphalt, over which is applied a weather-resisting layer of asphalt 14.
