[Classes 12 (i) and 12 (ii).] In a clock driven directly by a synchronous motor, the motor shaft j, Fig. 4, is mounted in selfaligning bearings, comprising brass pieces h having spherically shaped ends i engaging similarly shaped holes in the bearing plates d, e. Each piece h has a removable cap k for the introduction of lubricant, and is maintained in position by a spring n, Fig. 2, secured to the adjacent bearing plate.
