Abstract
391,556. Cooling oils &c. SERCK RADIATORS, Ltd. and WAGNER, C. O., Warwick Road, Greet, Birmingham. Jan. 27, 932, No. 2469. [Class 29.] In heat-exchangers, particularly oil coolers for electric transformer tanks, the headers b, c are provided with a valve or valves e movable in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the headers to obtain single or multiflow in the tubes a as desired. In Fig. 1 the valves are moved according to the oil pressure in the header by pistons t working against springs s. In Fig. 4 the closed ends of sleeve valves e form the piston t. The oil circulating pump between the tank and the cooler is shortcircuited to allow of thermosyphonic flow, a valve in the short circuit closing when the starting up of the pump causes a rise of pressure in the pump outlet. Specification 238,587, [Class 64 (iii), Surface apparatus &c.], is referred to.
