[Class 132 (ii).] Missiles are skidded over the surface of water in a tank towards one or more targets situated at one end of the tank, the missiles being either flung by hand or projected by means disposed at the end of the tank remote from the targets. As shown in Fig. 1, the targets comprise a series of numbered compartments protected by a bridge-piece 10, over or under which the missiles have to pass in order to enter the compartments. Obstacles in the form of transverse walls of increasing height may be situated in front of the targets, the surface of the water being maintained at the levels of the walls by supplying water to the tank at the target end and discharging at the throwing end. In modifications, the targets take the form of ships 21, Fig. 5, lighthouses 20 or of irregularly placed pegs, the missiles being projected from a shelf 4 by striking. Miniature waves may be formed on the surface of the water by a propeller immersed in the water and rotated by a motor. In small constructions, the water forms merely a thin film over the base of the tank. The missiles, Fig. 2, may be irregularly shaped but are preferably formed as solid or hollow discs with or without peripheral rings of rubber. Axial apertures 15 may be formed in the discs to enable them to encircle certain of the forms of target.
