[Class 132 (ii)] Apparatus for playing a warfare game comprises a board having a chart a marked with objective areas b, c and a contest area d divided into a number of equilateral triangles to form move stations at the angle points thereof, pieces of different values, provided with means for engaging the board at the stations, being moved by the players to capture points f, and a top hazard device being provided to determine the result of a " conflict " between engaging units. The pieces may be in the form of pegs k, Fig. 4, adapted to fit into holes e in the chart and board at the move stations, and carrying cardboard or celluloid tablets j having silhouettes of ships, for example, battleship, cruiser, destroyer, or submarine, thereon. Alternatively, the pieces may be silhouettes of the various fighting units made in wood or metal, or the pieces may have magnetic steel bases in which case the chart is secured on a metal sheet to facilitate positioning of the pieces magnetically. Again, the board may be of cork or like material and the playing pieces, Fig. 10, provided with pins L to pierce the chart and the board. A number of interchangeable charts are provided and secured to the board by pins h or clips. The hazard device comprises a polygonal disc, Fig. 8, having a spinning axle O, each side M of the disc being marked B, C or D to indicate " battleship " &c. The apparatus may, alternatively, simulate aerial or land warfare or manoeuvres.
