Abstract
391,010. Heating-apparatus associated with motor system. PAYNE, M., 50, Hook Road, Surbiton, Surrey, and CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., Titanic Works, Lincoln. Aug. 22, 1932, No. 23488. [Class 79 (iii).] In a double-decked passenger vehicle, the floor a of the upper deck is hollow and is utilized for conveying warm air to heat the vehicle. A heating unit c, heated electrically or by water from the engine-cooling system, is arranged at the front of the vehicle and is adapted to draw in fresh air or to withdraw air from either the upper or lower compartment of the vehicle. The heater discharges air into the conduit f, which is provided with a series of louvred openings g in the lower compartment, and outlets h in the upper compartment. Partitions may be provided in the hollow floor, and the walls of the vehicle may also be hollow to convey warm air.
