Abstract

388,948. Boxes. ANDREWS, E. S., 329, High Holborn, London.-(Box Blank Corporation; 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.) April 11, 1932, No. 10319. [Class 18.] A box formed from a single blank and comprising a body section and a cover section connected by a back section, has tabs 27, as shown in the Figure, extending from the back section 12 and secured in recesses 29 in the side walls 15 of the section 10 so as to be flush with the outer surfaces of said side walls. As shown, the side walls 15 and front walls 17 are of double thickness the inner layers 19, 20 being adhesively attached to the outer layers and the walls being connected by tabs on one of the walls secured between the layers of the other. The outer layers of the side walls are cut away to provide the recesses 29 which may be of rectangular, arcuate or other shape and, when of arcuate shape, the curved edge of the recess may be concentric with the hinge crease 14; the recesses may extend only a part of the depth of the side walls so that the entire lower edge of the side walls is continuous with the bottom of the box.
