Abstract

387,812. Circular looms &c. SLOT, C. J., Haaksbergerstraat, Enschede, Holland. Dec. 30, 1931, No.. 36028. Convention date, March 28. [Classes 142 (ii) and 142 (iii).] A segment-shaped bobbin-carrier 13 is moved in a circular path through the warp sheds 45 of a number of looms, weft being beaten up in each loom by a reed 11 on a cam-controlled lever to a weaving point determined by a polygonal ledge 37, which may be yieldable. The tubular fabric formed is guided over rotating breast beams or draw rollers 49 driven by ratchet mechanism and furnished with a counter piece 50. The warps from beams 46 pass around tensioning devices 47 to healds operated by cam-controlled treadles. The bobbin-carrier 13, supported and guided by pairs of angularlydisposed rollers 14, 15, is driven by gears 17 two at least of which always engage a toothed part 16 on the carrier. The gears are fixed to vertical shafts 18 carrying gears 20 engaging a toothed ring 21 and furnished with belt pulleys 22, all of which are driven by one belt from a shaft furnished with an electromotor. The carrier 13 has one or more rotatable pins 25 receiving conical cross-wound or bottle-shaped bobbins with connected threads to ensure continuous supply, the weft passing through porcelain eves 28. One or more looms mav be omitted, or warp threads may be omitted locally to form warpless strips along which the fabric may be cut. A jacquard may be used and various fabrics such as plain, twill, satin and damask may be woven in the various looms. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, it is stated that the reed may be adjustable in width, that the weft may be controlled by jacquard mechanisms, that one or more of the bobbins or the yarns thereof may be replaced automatically. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
