Abstract
387,777. Testing drains for leakage, JONES, A. J., 50, Castle Road, Isleworth, and MOYLE, H. L., 32, Kilmorey Gardens, St. Margaret's, both in Middlesex. Nov. 7, 1931, No. 30952. [Class 99 (ii).] A drain pipe &c. is tested for leakage by plugging its lower end and then supplying water to the higher end through a tubular bend a, one limb b of the latter being inserted in the pipe and the other disposed vertically. Fluidtightness between the bend and pipe is secured by a rubber ring e which is interposed between a flange d on the limb b and a flange d<1> on a loose perforated disc c movable towards and away from the flange d by a rod f passing through a stuffing-box g at the heel of the bend.
