Abstract

479,180. Tube cleaners. LJUNGBERG, H. J. W. June 3, 1937, No. 15446. Convention date, June 6, 1936. [Class 99 (ii)] A tube cleaner comprises a number of scrapers D which are pivoted to a non- axially movable carrier C rotatable on a shaft A in such manner that they tend to move outwards when the cleaner is pulled or pushed through a tube during a working stroke. This outward movement is limited by an adjustable sleeve G which is screwthreaded on the shaft A and is formed with a shoulder H for engagement by a loosely-mounted second carrier F connected to the scrapers D by links E. The scrapers D, which overlap in the manner of roof-tiles when in their inoperative position, consist of convex or arched plates each having a longitudinal flange D<1> extending radially from the centre thereof, the scrapers and flanges terminating in knife-edges J.
