Abstract

386,608. Boots &c. BARLOW, E. G., 70, St. John Street, Hanley, GATENSBURY, F. G., 5, Queen's Road, Hartshill, and PODMORE, W., Consall Hall, Consall, all in Stoke-on-Trent. Sept. 29, 1932, No. 27022. [Class 17 (ii).] An electrical earthing device for boots and shoes comprises a metallic stud having a plate a, as shown in Fig. 2, contacting with the wearer's foot, which is secured upon the insole by means of a plurality of conducting pins or rivets b passing completely through the sole or heel. The stud may be provided with a flexible tongue c to ensure electrical connection between the stud and an interior foot support. In the case of a rubber-soled boot or shoe, Fig. 7, the plate a<5> is secured upon the insole by means of a plurality of coiled spring conductors b<5> moulded or otherwise inserted so as to pass completely through the sole or heel.
