386,185. Vaporizing disinfectants. WALKER, Ltd., W. & F. and FREESTONE, J. T., Colonial House, Waler Street, Liverpool. April 16, 1932, No. 10922. [Class 81 (i).] Apparatus for sterilizing the air of rooms or enclosed spaces comprises a container for para-dichlorbenzene or its equivalent adapted partly as a storage and feed chamber and partly for exposing the material to air which is forced thereover and into the room or the like, so that a constant area of material is kept exposed. The disinfectant container is mounted in a removable member, such as a lid 9, in the upper ring 10 of a chamber 1. The lower part 4, of wire gauze, lies within the chamber 1 and is exposed to air drawn in by a fan 2 through holes 6 and discharged through outlets 7, 8. The upper part 5, having a window 13, acts as a reservoir for replenishing the material in the part 4 as it is volatilized. The apparatus may be arranged so that the air flows in a horizontal or inclined direction, and may be arranged outside the room to which the air is led by a conduit.
