Convention date, May 18, 1931. [Class 40 (iv).] A flat-bank structure for panel selectors, comprising rows of banks 28 clamped together by transverse members 27 which act as guides for the brush carriages S, is provided at its lower side with bearing members 39 from which the driving and restoring means W are suspended by means of cross-members 20. Each brush carriage and its driving means are brought into operative engagement by a projection 38 engaging a hook 40 on the top of a rack 36 which slides on a baseplate 30. The brushes are set by gravity under the control of a stop magnet 33 with a speed-regulating brake 37 and are restored by a fluid-pressure device K. Each bearing 39 carries a spring catch 19 engaging with a stop 18 on the brush carriage when the driving mechanism is detached. A cam lever 21, Fig. 3, with locking screw 24 provides adjusting means between the cross-member 20 and the baseplate 30 for the purpose of centring the brushes on the bank terminals. A cross-beam 26 serves to support the bank structure and has suspended from its ends bars 15, 16 which carry the terminal blocks 12, fluid-pressure devices K, and guide bearings 13 for the lower ends of the plates 30.
