Abstract

383,386. Stands ; shelves. HOUGHTON, G. G. and HOUGHTON, L. S., (trading as HOUGHTON, A. B. & G. G.), 42, Main Street, Birmingham. Oct. 26, 1931, No. 29601. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (v).] The wing members A, B of a folding display stand are formed from strip metal and are of a right-angled triangular shape formed with stepped portions 4d in which the shelf supports 5 are located and secured. The inclined sides 4c and base portions 4a of the wing members are hinged by riveted plates 8 to a vertical rod 9. The horizontal portions 5a of the shelf supports are formed with upward projections 5b to prevent forward displacement of the shelf. The opening movement of the display stand is restricted by links 7 or by extending the rear ends of the base sections 4a so that diagonal cut-aways engage at the required position. In a modification (not shown) the wing members are hinged to an intermediate panel.
