Abstract
383,118. Cases for lipstick, pencils, &c. ROLOT & H. LEMASSON, G., Route de Dijon, Beaune, Cote d'Or, France. Feb. 1, 1932, No. 2949. Convention date, Feb. 3, 1931. [Class 18.] In a case for toilet articles, pencil, chalk, rubber, or other articles, in which the lid is opened and the contents are caused to protrude by manipulating an external knob, the knob shaft during the first part of the movement of the knob engages in a notch in a link pivoted to the lid of the case and lifts the link, thus causing the lid to open ; the shaft is then disengaged from the link and subsequent movement of the knob actuates the cup &c., and causes the contents to protrude. Movement of the knob in the opposite direction causes the contents to be withdrawn into the case and the lid to be closed. In an example, a lipstick 1 is held in a cup 2 and the knob 4 can slide in a slot 5 in a side of the case. The link 8 is pivoted at 9 to a pivoted lid 6 and the pivot attached to the link moves in an arcuate slot 10 in the case. The link 8 also obturates the slot 5 in the closed position, Fig. 2. The lid may swing forwardly or to the sides instead of backwardly; and the case may have any section. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the statement that the case may contain a lighter, spark indicator, or electric lamp. This statement does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
