Abstract

382,521. Louvre ventilators. BROWN, E. G., of Brown & Co., West Road, Northumberland Park, Tottenham, London. March 9, 1932, No. 7075. [Class 137.] To prevent rattling in a louvre ventilator for vehicles and other purposes, each louvre is provided with a single pivot pin which projects at each end and is mounted in two spaced bearings at each end. The front portion of the ventilator frame is approximately U-shaped in cross section and the pivot pins 2 carrying the louvres 3 are mounted at each end in apertures formed in the two walls. Each louvre is provided with a short lever 4 pivotally connected to a common actuating bar 6. The louvres are opened against the action of springs 11 by means of a screw member 7 and nut 8. In a modification, the levers 4 are provided on the opposite side of the louvres and the actuating means are disposed within the depth of the frame 1. In a further modification, Fig. 8, the levers 4 are provided towards the outside of the frame but are bent round as shown, the actuating bar 6 being situated either above or below the frame.
