[Class 7 (iv).] Neon or like tubes, in shunt or in series with the sparking plugs, are arranged adjacent to marked surfaces, such as a flywheel and its casing, one of which is stationary while the other rotates synchronously with the engine shaft. The illumination by the tube should show the markings in register when the ignition is properly timed.
