[Class 7 (ii)] A diaphragm 6, exposed to the combustion space through a Venturi - shaped opening 7, supports a contact 3 coacting with a spring-pressed upper contact 8. The insulated terminal 13 is in circuit with the primary of a transformer of which the secondary winding is in series with a neon tube 19 which may either be stationary or, mounted on a movable part of the engine such as the flywheel. The diaphragm 6 may also be insulated, permitting several devices to be connected in series.
