382,424. Sewing-machines. PFAFF AKT.-GES., G. M., Wittelsbacherstrasse, Kaiserslautern, Germany. Oct. 27, 1931, No. 29769. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1930. [Class 112.] Lockstitching with rotary hooks.-The under thread is drawn off from the bobbin by the feed dog, and the needle aperture, the pivoting point of the bobbin case and the draw-off hole for the under thread, are situated in a common vertical plane. The bobbin case comprises an upper part 3, a tension spring 4 and lower part 5. The bobbin case is supported in the rotary hook member 1 by means of a guide rim 2. The draw-off hole 14 in the upper part 3 of the casing, when the case is in the lifted position, is in the same vertical plane as the needle aperture 12 and the pivot point d of the bobbin case. The lower part 5 is provided with a horn 6 which projects into a slot in the holder 8 to prevent rotation of the bobbin carrier in the direction of rotation of the hook. This horn has a channel guide 9 for the under thread 10, which runs through the draw-off hole 14, over this channel, and under the left-hand arm of the feed dog 11 to the needle aperture. Before the commencement of the stitch formation, the under thread lies on the under edge of the feed dog, Fig. 1. As the feed dog is moved during stitching, it draws off the necessary length of under thread, so ensuring regular stitches.
