[Class 103 (iv).] In a colliery tub or like wagon of the kind in which the side and end walls are made as separate units and the bottom is formed as a shallow tray bv which the lower edges of the walls are positioned, both the upper and lower edges of the side and end walls are held in rigid alignment by means of telescoping or interengaging parts. In the construction shown the end walls 1 are integrally extended and bent so as to form parts of the side walls 3, while both the upper and lower edges thereof are curled over and fitted with strengthening wires having projecting portions 2 that constitute spigots adapted to fit into co-operating sockets formed on the upper and lower edges of the side walls 3. Offset flanges 4 extending along the vertical edges of the side walls overlap the vertical edges of the end walls on the interior of the tub &c. The wall sections when assembled are riveted or bolted together, and finally riveted or bolted into position within the bottom 5. When damaged, a side or end wall can readily be detached for repairs or replaced, or, when the upper edge is worn, any section can be inverted.
