380,949. Closures for pressure vessels. FOSTER WHEELER, Ltd., Aldwych House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 30, 1931, No. 27226. Convention date, March 4. [Class 123 (i).] In closures for pressure vessels of the type in which the total pressure is carried to a bearing shoulder 24, in a body 22 to be sealed, separately from the gasketing 27, the total pressure is transmitted through a sealing diaphragm 25 to a pressure plate 35 intermediate the diaphragm and the bearing shoulder. The diaphragm 25 is dished in its centre part and raised at its rim 27. The pressure plate 35 is retained in position by shear pieces 37 .. 42, Fig. 2, which fit into a groove 23 of the bearing shoulder 24.
