Abstract

380,573. Making chair seats. DEXTER & CO. (HIGH WYCOMBE), Ltd., Queens Road, and HOWLETT, A., Norbury, Chairboro' Road, both in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Aug. 21, 1931, No. 23591. [Class 145 (i).] An overhand machine for recessing chair seats is provided with a rotary cutter 3, above which is a guide roller 4 adjustably supported by an arm 12. A seat x to be hollowed out is fixed in a holder 5 which carries a templet 6. The holder comprises a rectangular saddle with straps 19 terminating in claws, the saddle and templet are connected by spiked bolts 22. In the operation of the machine, the inner edge of the templet is moved over the roller.
