Abstract

379,793. Railway sleepers. UNITED STEEL COMPANIES, Ltd., 17, Westbourne Road, Sheffield, and MASON, B. G., 1, Dalston Road, Workington, Cumberland. June 24, 1931, No. 18303. [Class 104 (ii).] A metal railway sleeper is formed on its top with abutments 3, 4 for guiding and retaining the clips 6, 7 which secure the rail to the sleeper. The outer ends 10 of the clips are bevelled so that when they are forced down by the bolts 8 they are moved towards the edge of the rail. Reinforcing ribs 12 are formed on the under face of the. sleeper.? The clips may be of the kind described in Specification 267,669, [Class 104 (ii), Railway and tramway permanent way &c.].
