Abstract
379,518. Saw handles. SPEAR & JACKSON, Ltd. and COOMBE, L. J., Aetna Works, Savile Street, Sheffield. Sept. 4, 1931, No. 24891 and 31150. [Class 61 (i).] The blades of hand saws are secured in wooden handles by one-piece pins which are of slightly softer material than the blades, and of larger diameter than the holes in the blades so that they are sheared on being driven in place. The holes d for the securing pins e in the handle b and blade a may be made separately and the parts brought into alignment or the holes in the handle may be used as a guide for drilling or punching the holes in the blade. The pins are sheared at g by the holes in the blade which latter are said to become slightly turned at f, thus giving a tight grip on the pins.
