[Class 52 (i)] A sectional steel cabinet has vertical frame members of X-section to facilitate expansion and doors adapted to reduce entry of water and fire. The vertical frame members 1 of X-section are connected at their upper and lower ends by mouldings 3 and flanged plates 2 respectively, and the enclosed space is divided into compartments 6 by flanged plates 7, notched as in Fig. 6 to co-operate with the frame 1, and plates 16 between the sections, and also by a plate 5 when a double-faced cabinet is required. The doors 8 have tapering flanges 11 hinged to the frame by pivots 9, so situated that the doors slope inwardly at their upper ends and are retained closed by gravity. The doors reach midway across the flanges 10 of the shelves 7 in order to prevent water entering, and are held horizontally when open by pivoted. arms 12 co-operating with slotted members 13 attached to the frame. A.ternatively, sliding trays carried by the shelves 7 and horizontal members of T-section attached to the sides of the compartments which are closed by vertically hinged doors preferably two in number for each and overlapping. The back and side-plates of the compartments may be lined with ply-wood.
